Main Purpose of the Role:
To provide an efficient, professional and welcoming administrative service to Peterchurch Primary School, supporting the Headteacher and wider school team with the day-to-day administration and financial management of the school. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the school office and providing a positive first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff and visitors.
Our School and Governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Administrator who:
· Has excellent organisation and administrative skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and the day-to-day demands of a busy school office.
· Has experience and confidence in financial administration, including processing invoices and orders, maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring expenditure and handling payments.
· Is able to maintain accurate pupil, attendance, financial and administrative records, using school information systems and databases effectively.
· Has strong IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, and can confidently learn and use school-based systems.
· Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can deal confidently and professionally with enquiries from parents, pupils, staff, visitors and external agencies.
· Is friendly, approachable and professional, providing a welcoming and efficient first point of contact for our school community.
· Can provide effective administrative support to the Headteacher and wider school team, including correspondence, diary management, meetings, recruitment and school events where required.
· Can support the organisation of school trips, events, clubs and other activities, ensuring the necessary administration is completed accurately and efficiently.
· Has excellent attention to detail and understands the importance of maintaining accurate records and producing high-quality information.
· Understands the importance of confidentiality, data protection and safeguarding when working within a school environment.
· Is able to work independently, use their own initiative and work effectively as part of a team.
· Is reliable, flexible and well organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks and respond to changing demands.
· Is enthusiastic about supporting and modelling the inclusive ethos and values of Peterchurch Primary School.
· Has previous experience of working in an administrative and/or finance role, with experience of working in a school environment being desirable.
Peterchurch Primary was recognised by OFSTED as a good school with many exceptional features in March 2024. Visits to the school by prior appointment are warmly welcomed.
